A clean division of labour keeps every job legal, insurable and on schedule: CITÉLUX supplies and programmes; a licensed electrical contractor installs.
We walk your building day and night, map power and mounting points, and photograph sightlines. Gratuit et sans obligation — free, no obligation.
You get a fixture schedule, zone drawings and a preview of your looks — plus one written, itemised quote. No surprises later.
You approve the exact fixtures in writing before anything is ordered. Approved orders are final — that protects your timeline and your price.
Every fixture is powered, addressed and burned-in on our bench before it ever reaches your site. Dead-on-arrival units never leave the shop.
An ECRA/ESA licensed electrical contractor installs and connects everything, with ESA notification and inspection as required. CITÉLUX never installs electrical work itself.
We programme your calendar — hours, seasons, holidays, brand colours — then commission and sign off the system with you on site.
Your looks stay current all year: new holidays, schedule changes and health checks handled for you under a monthly plan.
We never install electrical work ourselves, never supply uncertified fixtures, and never leave a building on a look you didn't approve.

Every fixture CITÉLUX sells carries an ESA-recognized approval — a CSA, cULus or cETLus mark — or is supplied only in certified variants or field-evaluated and labelled under CSA SPE-1000 before installation. In Ontario, selling or installing unapproved electrical equipment is illegal (Ontario Electrical Safety Code Rules 2-022/2-024; O. Reg. 438/07). CE-only product: never sold, never installed. Certification file numbers are confirmed in writing before any order, and the client signs the fixture schedule first.
Images are illustrative supplier examples. Final fixture selection, spec sheets and photometrics are provided with your design.
— 06 / Lasers et contrôle réseau · Lasers & Art-Net
Beyond architectural DMX, CITÉLUX designs and programmes commercial-scale laser moments and networked control for mid-size sites — mixed and matched with your facade system, run from the same calendar.
Design & programming: $1,250/day

Controlled indoor laser features for lobbies, atriums and reception spaces, designed with audience safety and beam containment first.
Openings, seasonal moments and brand nights for plazas, hotels and restaurants — programmed on the same calendar as your facade.
Holiday shows and building-scale outdoor moments for commercial properties, fully coordinated and insured before dates are confirmed.
Timecode-synced programming brings architectural lighting and laser cues into a single, precisely programmed show.
IEC 60825-classified fixtures only. Outdoor shows are coordinated with Transport Canada / NAV CANADA and insured before dates are confirmed; terminated beams only, a laser safety officer on every show, and no outdoor audience scanning, ever. Bridge, district, arena or government spectacle-scale productions are referred at intake to a specialist flagship team — one project, one team, quoted once.

— 10 / Secteur public · Government & Procurement
We help municipalities and heritage organizations transform monuments and historic landmarks into year-round community assets — energy-efficient lighting that supports tourism, civic events and cultural celebrations.
Ottawa is a government town — CITÉLUX is structured for it. Certified goods, a licensed installation partner, and paperwork that survives procurement review. Managed plans are offered at contract signing.
Most building-scale lighting projects fit comfortably inside low-dollar and invitational thresholds. We respond with itemised, fixed-price written quotes, fixture certification files (CSA / cUL / cETL), and WSIB & insurance certificates on request.
CSA/cUL/cETL-approved fixture options specified for ESA compliance (O. Reg. 438/07). All hardwired installation is performed by a Licensed Electrical Contractor (ECRA/ESA) — a division of responsibility procurement officers can defend.
On larger tenders we supply and programme as a sub to the electrical contractor of record — goods + programming scope clearly fenced, bench-tested pre-addressed fixtures, and commissioning & sign-off documentation included.
Documentation bilingue — en français sur demande. EN/FR commissioning and support for federal, provincial and municipal clients across Ottawa–Gatineau.
Compliance, up front: ESA O. Reg. 438/07 — certified fixtures only · installation solely by an ECRA/ESA licensed electrical contractor · client signs fixture approval before any order · liability carried by the party doing the work.
A need for public presentation, a capital-improvement budget, and an iconic asset.
The more photographed and visited a place is, the easier the case.
Créneau le plus fort · The strongest niche
Historic monuments and war memorials need respectful, programmable lighting for Remembrance Day, national holidays, awareness campaigns and civic ceremonies — without altering the structure itself. DMX control delivers that: dignified warm white most nights, the right colour on the right date, nothing permanently changed.
Every CITÉLUX proposal is written against these five, and scored on best value — meilleure valeur — not lowest bid.
LED over legacy floodlighting — operating case shown up front, not just the capital case.
Long fixture life and remote monitoring mean fewer maintenance visits.
Better visibility and wayfinding in the places people gather after dark.
Landmark presence without light spill.
Several stakeholders, each with the material they actually review.
01
No tender needed: a compelling vision is often what gets a project funded.
02
One documented project becomes the reference for every larger conversation.
03
Equipment, design, programming, commissioning, training and contingency — itemised in writing, confirmed once.
Credibility through risk reduction — design and controls by CITÉLUX, installation by the licensed contractor of record.
— 11 / Questions fréquentes · FAQ
No — and that's deliberate. Ontario law reserves electrical installation contracting to licensed electrical contractors (LEC). CITÉLUX supplies certified fixtures, bench-tests and pre-addresses them, then programmes and commissions the system after our LEC partner installs. You get one point of contact and a fully legal install.
Because the honest price depends on your building: mounting heights, cable runs, beam spreads and control distances change the fixture schedule. A per-fixture web price would either overcharge simple buildings or under-quote complex ones. Your audit is free, and the written quote is itemised and fixed. Luxury looks. City-smart rates.
Architectural fixtures are ordered in bulk from the factory. Once an order is placed, returning fixtures internationally costs thousands and is often refused outright — so approved orders are final and deposits become non-refundable once ordering happens. The approval step makes sure the exact models, optics and colours on paper are the ones you want, before anyone is committed.
Yes. The controller runs an astronomical clock — it knows sunset every day of the year — and your programmed calendar: building hours, seasons, holidays and brand looks switch on schedule with no one touching a switch. Managed plans keep the calendar current as holidays and campaigns change.
Every project includes attic-stock spares of your key fixtures, so a failure is a swap, not a factory wait. Managed plans add scheduled remote diagnostics, so dead channels and offline nodes are usually spotted before your tenants notice.
Dealerships, condo towers and their amenity spaces, retail plazas, hotels and restaurants, municipal and institutional buildings — anywhere the night-time look is part of the brand. If your project is a landmark-scale showpiece, tell us anyway: we'll route it to the right team at intake.
Our home turf is Ottawa–Gatineau. We take on projects across Eastern Ontario and the Valley for the right building — travel is itemised in the quote, never buried.
Yes — at commercial scale. CITÉLUX designs and programmes laser features for lobbies and atriums, retail and hospitality moments, and smaller outdoor building spectacles ($1,250/day design & programming, IEC 60825 fixtures only, outdoor shows coordinated with the authorities and insured before dates are confirmed). Bridge-, arena- or district-scale spectacle productions are referred at intake to a specialist flagship team.
Design + programme packages run $3,500–$6,500; programming is $950/day. Managed plan anchors are Essential $349/mo, Managed $895/mo and Landmark $2,450/mo. Laser design/programming is $1,250/day; Art-Net network design starts at $1,500/site. All amounts are CAD. Final scope and price are confirmed in writing after a free site audit.
A single community memorial, municipal sign, historic clock tower or park feature proves the quality and the public response on a contained budget, and becomes the documented reference for the larger system that follows. Un petit départ, une preuve réelle.
Yes. We prepare a concept rendering and an itemised, fixed-scope proposal for an underlit landmark before procurement exists. That vision supports capital planning and revitalization funding discussions — and when a tender is written, it informs the technical language.
The total scope, not just fixtures: equipment (fixtures, controllers, power supplies, networking, mounting hardware), design time, project management, programming, commissioning and testing with the licensed electrical contractor, staff training, insurance and overhead — plus a stated contingency for what older buildings hide: old wiring, structural limits and heritage restrictions. Every line is visible before approval.
